Being a mother of the bride is not always an easy role. In truth, it is a big job and one that demands the mother wear many hats. .
- The Counselor/Crutch: Learn to listen. Offer advice when your daughter seeks it and remain supportive of her during the planning phase that so often causes stress.
- Extend a Helping Hand: Be willing to take on wedding planning and perform different tasks when your daughter asks for help.
- Prepare the Guest List: Compile the guest list for your side of the family. Remember to consult the bride regarding the guest list. Nominate yourself to be the main point of contact.
- Attend Pre-Wedding Parties: These parties include the bridal shower, engagement party and rehearsal dinner.
- Introductions: If you have not met your future son-in-law’s parents, why not plan to have a Meet the Parents dinner?
- Hit the Dance Floor: Many guests will look to you to see when it ok to begin dancing.
