Follow the Bride: Savannah Burger

What do you do when you have one day to find your wedding venue? Enlist the help of your mother and Google, of course.

That’s what happened to Castleton Farms bride, Savannah Burger. Savannah, who is a Nurse Practitioner, grew up in Knoxville and now resides in Baltimore, Maryland where she met her fiance, Jesse Kaiss. Last summer, the couple went ring shopping. Jesse kept tight lipped as months passed without a proposal. On December 19th, Baltimore and the entire East coast got walloped by a big snowstorm. When the couple took a twilight walk to look at Christmas lights, Jesse spotted something in the snow. He got down and started digging and got the ring. Alas, Jesse got down on one knee and proposed.

This proposal was Jesse’s Plan B. His original plan, that Savannah found out later, was to propose by the Jefferson Memorial in Washington D.C., but everything was closed because of the snowstorm. Jesse wanted to pop the question that weekend because Savannah was about to leave to visit her family for the holidays.

So, while Savannah was in Knoxville over the holidays, she took one day to look at wedding venues. Her mother said she read about a place in Cityview Magazine, but couldn’t remember the name. Savannah jumped on Google, looked at archived issues of Cityview and found Castleton Farms.

“I crossed my fingers that everything would be right and it is,” Savannah said of her visit to Castleton Farms. She said she knows Jesse will love it when he comes for a visit in two weeks to finalize more wedding plans.

Savannah and Jesse will be married at Castleton Farms on August 14, 2010. Stay tuned to our blog for more details on their wedding plans.
