Follow the Bride: Ruthann Bindon, Part 2
When planning a destination wedding, like Castleton Farms bride, Ruthann Bindon, having a coordinator who’s familiar with the area is a truly valuable asset.
When Ruthann, who’s from Michigan, got engaged to Mark Fleenor from Farragut, they decided that it made sense to get married in East Tennessee. Ruthann, who’s the youngest of nine children, said that most of her family is spread out across the country and they would have to travel for her wedding no matter where it was held.
After becoming engaged, Ruthann said she poured over materials and found wedding coordinator Sonya Scott. “I realized it would be difficult to plan a wedding somewhere that I’m not familiar with,” Ruthann said.
On a visit to the area, Ruthann and Mark met with Sonya to find their wedding venue. Ruthann said they wanted an outdoor location that could accommodate 500 guests She said they went to several places and were getting discouraged with what they were seeing. And then Sonya took them to Castleton Farms. “It’s exactly what I was envisioning and more,” Ruthann said.
Ruthann and Mark will be married on August 7th at Castleton Farms. The ceremony will be held on the raised platform overlooking the large pond and the reception will take place at the tented pavilion with lounge areas on the adjacent patios.
