Follow the Bride: Savannah Burger – Part 3
Dendrobiums and Phalaenopsis orchids hand tied with cobalt blue ribbon will make the perfect bridal bouquet for bride Savannah Burger.
Sam Franklin, owner of Samuel Franklin Florist in Clinton sat down at Castleton Farms with Savannah and her mother while Savannah was in town over the long Easter holiday weekend. For Savannah and fiance Jesse, their August 14th wedding is a destination wedding and they are able to accomplish a lot of planning on their trips to the area to see Savannah’s family.
With Sam’s help, Savannah and her mother were able to select the blooms to be used in the bouquets. For the bridal bouquet Phalaenopsis will be dyed blue and white Dendrobiums will be incorporated. To complement the bridal bouquet, for the bridesmaids’ bouquets, white Dendrobiums will serve as the primary bloom and the dyed blue Phalaenopsis will be used as accents. Sam suggested using the fabric from the bridesmaid dress to hand tie the bouquets. Since one of the bridesmaid dresses needs to be hemmed, he’ll be able to use the actual fabric from the dress.
Savannah’s flower girl will be carrying a small white basket and dropping white rose and Dendrobiums and petals.
Jesse will be wearing a boutonniere with one blue and one white orchid bloom and each groomsmen will be wearing a single white orchid. Sam said that darker boutonnieres can get lost on dark lapels.
Not only was Savannah and her mother able to pick out flowers for the bridal party, they were able to discuss reception centerpieces and ceremony floral arrangements. Savannah and Jesse will be exchanging their vows on the raised platform at Castleton Farms. The columns on the platform will be wrapped in garland and flowers. A beautiful cascading curtain of garland and flowers will be hanging as a backdrop for the ceremony.
