Follow the Bride: Autumn Baxter, Part 1

Roommates are awesome. Without them, many people wouldn’t find THE ONE. That’s the case for Castleton Farms Bride, Autumn Baxter.

More than three years ago, Autumn was living with her roommate and attending Middle Tennessee State University. Her roommate’s boyfriend was at University of Tennessee and played on the Lacrosse team. The girls went to watch his team play Vanderbilt in Nashville. Autumn’s roommate’s boyfriend introduced Autumn to his coach, Matt Synowiez. They all went to lunch afterwards and had a good time. A few weeks later, the girls made the trek to Knoxville for a Lacrosse team barbeque. Matt got Autumn’s phone number that day and the two have been together ever since.

That’s right, the two were in a long distance relationship for three years!

“I know that stretch of Interstate 40 well,” Autumn said referring to the trip from Nashville to Knoxville.

During those three years, the couple had discussed getting married, however, Autumn was unsure when and how Matt would propose. According to Autumn, she’s quite observant, so it would be challenging for Matt to sneak something passed her. So, the weekend before Christmas last year, a weekend that they weren’t supposed to see each other, Matt insisted he wanted to come for a one-day visit. While Autumn thought it a little odd, she welcomed his company.

When he arrived, Autumn’s family wanted them to go to dinner with them. So, right there, in the middle of the Mexican restaurant, Cinco De Mayo, in front of Autumn’s family, Matt proposed!

“It was definitely a surprise,” Autumn says.

Once Autumn was engaged, she moved to Knoxville where she’s a full-time nanny to 1-year-old and 3-year-old brothers.

Stay tuned to find out how Autumn’s and Matt’s plans are coming for their May 21, 2011 wedding.
