Brand Conscious
Today’s couples are smart, savvy and stylish and that’s why many are choosing to “brand” their wedding.
That’s right, branding isn’t just for corporations. Brands evoke emotions and is a unique way for the couple to convey the mood of their special day.
Branding starts long before the wedding. Most wedding designers say that once the venue is determined, a brand can be created. The couple’s wedding brand can set the tone for the entire experience, from the engagement party to the thank-you notes.
Some couples might wonder why they should develop a brand for their wedding. Experts suggest that guests already think of you as the couple with a distinct vibe, the couple who like to throw parties, or the couple who take exotic vacations.
Wedding branding is creating the logo that defines you as a couple. Also, guests should be able to take one look at the brand and know exactly what type of wedding to anticipate.
A wedding brand can be as simple and elegant as the couple’s initials in a beautiful script using your wedding colors. Other couples opt to create a logo incorporating organic elements like trees, flowers or seashells which would be appropriate for a garden or beach wedding. Some logos or brands are whimsical which would be great for non-traditional weddings.
Couples can turn to artists or graphic designers to help create their logo or find templates and resources to design their own brand.
Some tips to wedding branding, whether doing it yourself or hiring a professional, include keeping it simple and focused; using your wedding color palette; incorporating your theme (if you have one); and, making sure it’s clear and legible.
The most important thing is to LOVE your brand or logo. If you don’t love the look of the design, likely, you won’t want to use it on your invitations, paper products or decor.
